Flower show parking
If you plan to drive to the Ellerslie Flower Show, the police ask that you follow the parking information printed on your ticket. There is ample parking at the Manukau Velodrome and Totara Heights carparks, with free shuttle buses to and from the show.
Roadworks
Boston Rd, between the roundabout at Normanby Rd/Nugent St and Khyber Pass Rd in Auckland City, will be closed from 9pm until 6am tomorrow. All lane changes and diversions will be clearly signposted.
Maritime auction
Artefacts and memorabilia from the Kelly Tarlton Museum of Shipwrecks in Paihia are up for auction at Webb's next Monday and Tuesday. Inspect from today at 18 Manukau Rd, Epsom, or by visiting the website at Webbs Auctions. Illustrated catalogues are $20.
Story time
Fairy Clare, Bringwonder the storyteller and Michael Jackson entertain the children in half-hour shows every hour from 10am to 1pm in Market Square at the Viaduct Harbour.
Music gig
Tonight's World Series gig in the Grand Circle Bar of the St James Complex in Queen St features Pine, Damien Binder, Fang, The Brunettes, SJD and Rhombus. The series showcases New Zealand's best music. Tickets are $20 from Ticketek and Real Groovy, and it starts at 7.30pm.
Charity profits
Shop at Farmers stores today between 9am and 9pm and profits from trading will go to the Salvation Army.
Nativity tale
The Mairangi Players present The Business of Good Government, a retelling of the nativity story, from today until Saturday at 7.30pm, at 4pm on Sunday and again next week. The venue is the Little Theatre, Recreation Drive, Birkenhead, and tickets are $12, $10 and $40 for a family pass. Phone 419 0415 for bookings and information.
