Crime scene: Albany Burger King robbed

Three men, one armed with a knife, escaped from Burger King in the Albany Mega Centre about 2am last Friday with $20,000.

During the robbery a staff member was locked in the chiller and the manager tied up. They were discovered when the early shift arrived for work. The robbers torched the manager's car as they left. The men were wearing dark clothing and white-coloured masks.

Anyone who was in the area between 2am and 2.45am that day and who saw any activity around the takeaway bar is asked to call Detective Sergeant Fred Nu'u on 488-6200.
