'Humbled' Telecom thanks customers

Telecom is taking a punt with its tattered reputation this morning, using full-page newspaper ads to thank its remaining customers for their loyalty.

The company admits it has been through a rough time, and says it is 'no surprise' to be under heavy scrutiny. It also says it has been humbled.

Nine grinning staff are pictured in the ad, over text which reports progress on the troubled XT network.

But Telecom stops short of claiming XT's problems have been fixed.
