Holden has initiated a vehicle safety recall on certain 2012 to 2015 1.6L Holden Barina in manual, as well as 2013 to 2014 1.8L Trax manual vehicles.
A condition has been identified where certain manual transmission vehicles may have developed wear within the ignition key cylinder (barrel).
This may allow the vehicle starter motor to crank the engine if the ignition key is left inside the key cylinder in the "OFF" position.
In this circumstance, if the vehicle has been parked and left in gear, with the park brake only partially engaged, it may be possible for the vehicle to move unintentionally.
