First in line for Cash 4 Schools scheme

Mr Wilmhurst's two sons went to the school a former chairman of the school's board of trustees and has been actively involved in maintaining community interest in the school.
Cash 4 School provides money to schools as a result of people joining Tower's KiwiPlan - nationally around 1,000 schools are involved in the scheme whereby Tower's KiwiSaver clients nominate a school to receive $20 from Tower plus an ongoing annual donation based on the balance of clients' KiwiSaver accounts.
Tower national manager Fred Dodds said the scheme was designed to address schools' difficulty with fundraising and was devised as "a unique opportunity to provide ongoing funding to young people in New Zealand."
The school is the first in the country to receive a cheque since the Cash 4 School scheme began six months ago.
