Police say they are considering a rethink of security at a popular Masterton night spot following an early morning fight this week.
Sergeant Mike Sutton said a fight broke out at 1am on Thursday at Masterton McDonald's that resulted in the shattering of one of the glass doors.
He said a 13-year-old
Masterton boy was arrested by police and referred to Youth Aid, and another youth was still being sought.
The incident was the second in February, after drunk and disorderly behaviour forced police to evacuate 30 to 40 people from the restaurant early on February 7.
On that occasion, police closed the restaurant for 30 minutes from 2.23am and arrested two people for breaching the peace and for detoxification.
Mr Sutton said the area was popular at night and "just seems to attract people".
"That's probably due to the fact that it's one of only one or two places open at 2am when the bars close.
"It's been that way for quite some time. It's something we're aware of and we're working with the management to come up with a solution."
He said they were one CCTV camera down in that area, but were looking to replace it soon during a revamp of security in that part of town.
Masterton McDonald's franchise owner Matt Smith did not return calls yesterday.
