Christian leader dies

Brian Hathaway, one of the country's most prominent and highly respected Christian leaders, died suddenly on Sunday.

Mr Hathaway, national principal of the Bible College of New Zealand, collapsed and died while on his morning run.

Before taking over the college, Mr Hathaway, aged 61, was senior pastor of the Te Atatu Bible Chapel for 13 years and spent several years as co-ordinator for Vision New Zealand, a non-denominational church-building and evangelism organisation.
