KEY POINTS:
A 5-year-old boy died after he was hit by a 4WD outside a church yesterday.
The boy and his family were attending a service at the Spring of Living Water Church - part of the Assembly of God faith - in Stokes Valley, near Wellington.
The driver of the vehicle, which was carrying adult passengers and at least one child who were also all members of the congregation, knew the boy.
The man had been looking for a park when the child was struck in the courtyard in front of the church.
