What to buy for adults this Christmas, we asked our expert lifestyle team what gifts they’re eyeing up this festive season. Video / Carson Bluck

Christmas is just days away, but if you still have a few names left on your shopping list, you’re in luck.

Today - December 18 - is the cutoff date for getting those last-minute gifts in the mail for domestic economy items through NZ Post.

The cut-off date for courier items is December 20. This will give your gifts the best chance of arriving by Christmas Day, though if all fails you can always pop an IOU - or a tracking number - under the tree.

It’s been a big, busy year, and although it takes a good deal of effort to make holiday festivities happen, there’s also time to rest, relax and enjoy time at home.

That’s the theme of these gift ideas — good ideas for grown-ups who want to dabble in some self-care during their time off, get stuck into the kitchen and finally use that cookbook they got last Christmas, head to the beach, or simply park up on the couch with some fancy chocolates.
