The epic fight in the latest episode of Game of Thrones may have blown some minds but it also left Pedro Pascal with a ripped costume.
The 39-year-old actor portrays Oberyn Martell in the popular fantasy series.
Or at least he did until his head was squeezed by the Mountain's massive hands until it exploded in front of all of Kings Landing in the fourth season episode that shocked many viewers.
Pascal told Entertainment Weekly he took classes in acrobatic martial arts to prepare for the battle scene which saw him dance around the Mountain spear in hand.
When it came to the shoot, he admits he should have warmed up a bit more.
"It was really intense. It was a three-day shoot. We were in the arena that was exposed to sunlight for the entire day.
"(I was) layered, though agile, but still covered in armour and flying around like a wasp. Just flying around this 6 foot 8, 420-pound guy, who literally had a sword that went from the ground to my chin.
"I never got hit, but I definitely could have stretched a bit more. There was costume rippage.
"Pascal says he found Oberyn easy to play because the character is "delicious".
"I love the character. I fell in love with the character and maybe that helped me play him. The first thing that helped me identify with him was actually a love for him," he told Access Hollywood.
"I found him very delicious. I also found him very, very honourable and very progressive and just an all-around badass, not because he's a great fighter ... but because he has morals that I identify with."
Game of Thrones has a huge following and has already scored several Emmy awards. The show's star Peter Dinklage also took home a Golden Globe in 2012.
Pedro has received a great deal of praise for his portrayal and sometimes can't believe how many people he's touched with his acting.
"It's very moving for me. It makes me emotional," he said.
