Police are unimpressed with the actions of a man caught travelling at 147kmh along the Waikato Expressway this afternoon.
Conditions have deteriorated in the district, with heavy rain falling for the last few hours.
A Waikato police spokesman said a man was clocked at 147kmh in his RX7 vehicle in wet conditions.
He was already a suspended driver, but now has a summons to appear in the Hamilton District Court for driving while suspended.
His vehicle was impounded for 28 days and he was issued a $630 fine.
The man's actions come just 24 hours after two other drivers were stopped for speeding on the expressway near Taupiri.
The first was clocked travelling at 143kmh while the second registered 176kmh.
Of the 35 fatal crashes in the Waikato last year, excessive speed was a contributing factor in 15 crashes.
