Plans for two beams of light to rise beside the World Trade Centre site as a tribute to those lost in the collapse of the twin towers are making progress.
Marian Fontana, president of the September 11 Widows and Victims Families Association, said after a meeting with New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg that a temporary memorial called the Tribute of Light would stand in a vacant area beside the trade centre from March 11 to April 13.
The Tribute of Light would consist of diffused, vertical beams of light.
