US flood aid for American Samoa

President George W. Bush has declared a major disaster for American Samoa, clearing the way for deployment of federal funds to help victims of flooding last month on the South Pacific US territory.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency aid will provide stricken residents of Tutuila island with funds to help pay for temporary housing, home repair and related expenses from the May 19 floods.
