Federal agents and sheriff's deputies have failed to find anything suspicious after search a rural house in southeast Texas following a tip that multiple dismembered bodies are buried there.
Spokesman Rex Evans of the Sheriff's Department said the office had received an anonymous report that there were bodies in the home.
Deputies went to the house and determined that a search warrant was required.
The Houston Chronicle is reporting the tip-off came from a psychic.
But Liberty County Judge Craig McNair told the newspaper that no bodies were found inside the house.
An earlier search by law enforcement officers found evidence of what they believed was blood, but no sign of anything else, leading them to suggest the call may have been a hoax.
A foul stench emanating from the house was found to be coming from piles of rotting garbage and the blood found at the residence was related to an earlier incident, the source told the Houston Chronicle.
A 16-year-old girl who lives nextdoor to the property being investigated told the Cleveland Advocate that one of the house's occupants was her friend.
She said the friend had moved out a week ago but had previously lived there with her fiance and her parents, who are long-haul truck drivers.
FBI spokeswoman Kim Barkhausen told the Associated Press that the agency had been asked to assist in an investigation.
She declined to discuss details of the anonymous tip or the search.
