Malaysian police have moved to quash rumours circulating online that a small cat-like creature with a human face has been found.
Videos and images of the beast had been circulating online but officials claim that the creature is no more than a hoax.
The small, hand-sized creature is a pale with a few strands of black hair on top of its human-like head.
The similarities to a human end there, as images show the creature with fang-like teeth and sharp claws on its four limbs.

Pictures were believed to have been taken in the Pahang area of western Malaysia, the MailOnline reported.
State police boss Datuk Rosli Abdul Rahman said rumours circulating about the existence of the creature were untrue.
He said: "Checks revealed the images were downloaded from the internet before it was shared on social media, claiming that the discovery was made in Pahang.
"I hope the public will stop circulating news about the alleged discovery."
State police added that there had been no recorded discovery or sightings of the four-legged discovery.
Earlier posts said the weird animal was being held in a laboratory at an unknown location.
However it is believed that the mystery creature is a "silicon baby werewolf" that is sold online.
