LONDON - Baroness Thatcher was so famous for a certain fashion accessory that the term "handbagging" has forever joined the lexicon of British politics.
Now, one lucky bidder will get to snatch one of the former Prime Minister's handbags in an internet charity auction without having to brave the rhetorical onslaughts she unleashed on opponents and Conservative colleagues alike.
Besides the "Iron Lady," a host of other personalities have donated their handbags to raise money for Breast Cancer Care at the auction hosted by women's website www.handbag.com.
Those wanting to get a handle on politics might bid for the bags once owned by Prime Minister Tony Blair's wife, Cherie Booth, and Cabinet Office Minister Mo Mowlam, the former Secretary for North Ireland.
Or for a brush with the stars, how about the one from Texan supermodel Jerry Hall, Mick Jagger's ex-wife?
Actress Amanda Redman and former tennis star Annabel Croft also chipped in.
