Hurricane Isidore powers to Mexico

Hurricane Isidore was generating winds of 205km/h as it churned towards Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, famous for its ancient Mayan ruins and beach resorts, after battering western Cuba and leaving severe floods in its wake.

More than 3000 people have been evacuated from the fishing village of Puerto Holbox.
