A German tourist fatally attacked by a 4.6m crocodile two years ago was swimming in a murky waterway lined with signposts warning it was infested with the deadly animals, an inquest heard yesterday.
Isabel von Jordan, 23, was killed as she swam in Sandy Billabong in Kakadu National Park.
The skull of the three-legged saltwater crocodile that killed her was displayed in Darwin Magistrates Court at the start of the inquest into von Jordan's death.
The guide who allowed tourists to take a late-night dip in the waterway pleaded guilty last year and was given a three-year suspended prison sentence.
