A Canadian who had an affair with a juror during his murder trial has been sentenced to nearly six years in jail for what a judge called "almost unimaginable" obstruction of justice.
The British Columbia Supreme Court imposed a harsher sentence on Peter Gill, 37, than on the juror, Gillian Guess, 47, who was jailed for 18 months.
Gill was acquitted in 1995 with four others of killing two men in an alleged drug dealers' turf war.
Guess said he began the relationship by flirting while evidence in the murder trial was being presented.
