A British woman became the country's oldest mother of twins when she gave birth at 58.
Former nursery nurse Janet Bosher had Sarah and James last September after IVF treatment with donated embryos.
However, the joy she felt at having the twins, her first children, was marred by tragedy 11 days agowhen her partner Martin Maslin died, she said.
Ms Bosher, now 59, from west London, told the Sunday Mirror she would "never forget the feeling of utter joy and love when I saw the twins ... I was in tears. I felt so lucky and couldn't quite believe that I'd actually carried these two beautiful little babies inside me."
