Australia-bound visitors up

The number of overseas visitors coming to Australia has rebounded a year after the Sars scare ravaged the tourism industry.

Australian Bureau of Statistics figures for May show 341,300 people travelled to Australia, up 80,400 or 30.8 per cent on the same period last year.

The number of visitors from New Zealand rose 11.3 per cent.
