Swimmers from the CMK Stratford Flyers swim team travelled to Rotorua for the Swim New Zealand Junior Festival earlier this month, and returned home with gold medals for their efforts.
Coach Aimee Woodhead says the swimmers all performed to a high standard at the event, bringing home relay medals for the first time from this competition.
"They performed to a high standard being in the 10 top clubs there, with many medals, top 10s and personal best times."
A gold medal was won by Samara Agent, Isabelle Wightman, Eva McGeoch and Ruby Edwards in the 12 and under 4 x 50 relay event, while the mixed medley team of Jayda Hancock, Braiden Higgison, Dylan Kowalewski and Samara Agent brought home a bronze medal.
Results:
Top 3: Ruby Edwards: 3rd in 50m freestyle.
Dylan Kowalewski: 1st in 200m backstroke, 200m freestyle, 200m medley and 100m freestyle. 2nd in 50m freestyle, and 3rd in 100m medley 100m backstroke.
Top 10:
Samara Agent: 4th in 50m freestyle, 6th in 100m butterfly, 8th in 200m medley, 9th in 200m freestyle and 100m freestyle.
Jayda Hancock :4th in 50m breaststroke, 6th 100m breaststroke and 7th in 200m breaststroke.
Braiden Higgison: 6th in 200m butterfly and 10th in 100m butterfly,.
Bella Keenan: 8th in 100m butterfly.
Anahera Martin: 5th in 100m butterfly, 7th in 50m butterfly and 9th in 200m medley.
Harriet Muller: 10th in 50m freestyle,
Daniel Read, 7th in 200m butterfly.
Isabelle Wightman: 7th in 100m freestyle and 9th in 200m backstroke.
Eva McGeoch: 4th in 200m backstroke, 6th in 200metre breaststroke, 7th in 200m freestyle and 200m medley, 8th in 100m medley, 100m backstroke and 100m breaststroke.
Personal Best Times: All of the above swimmers along with Leani Jones, Madeline Hobo, Morgan Hobo, Libby Keenan, Millah Keller, Lexi Kowalewski, Eden Lark, Alexia Maketoni, Madi Mattock, Ethan Ogle and Bailee Robertson.
