MELBOURNE - Jon-Paul Tobin leads the men's section of the Oceania mistral yachting championships after the second day's racing in Melbourne yesterday.
Tobin won both races and heads the field from Briton Nick Dempsey, with New Zealand youth sailor Tom Ashley third.
Matt McCormick and Scott Radley were fourth and fifth respectively.
Fellow Kiwi Julie Worth is third in the women's fleet behind Britain's Natasha and Australian Jessica Crisp.
Meanwhile, New Zealand's Miranda Powrie was lying second in the laser radial class mixed fleet at the Sail Melbourne regatta and compatriot Jake Bartrom was fourth at the halfway stage.
