Tennis: Serena on stage

Wimbledon women's singles champion Serena Williams is taking part in acting classes and has also hired a teacher for private lessons.

The 20-year-old Williams, who is the world No 1, said she already had numerous offers to act, but felt that she still had a lot to learn. If she could choose her male film acting partners, Sean Connery, Anthony Hopkins or Morgan Freeman would head her list.

Williams lost in the quarter-finals of the Los Angeles Open yesterday to Chandra Rubin.
