Reigning champion Gustavo Kuerten of Brazil will be top men's seed at the French Open tennis tournament, which begins next week.
Seedings at the $US10 million ($23.71 million) event are based on the ATP's rolling 52-week ranking system. That means that the 24-year-old Brazilian is top, followed by Russia's Marat Safin. Andre Agassi, winner of the French Open in 1999, is seeded third, Spaniard Juan Carlos Ferrero, fourth and Pete Sampras, fifth.
