New Zealand swimmers finished out of the medals on the second day of the FINA World Cup in Singapore today.
Both Melissa Ingram and Jessica Maston qualified for finals today.
Ingram, who won a bronze medal on the first day, finished fifth in the final of the 100m backstroke and sixth in the final of the 400m freestyle, while West Auckland's Marston was seventh in the 400m freestyle.
Ingram, from Swimming New Zealand's High Performance Centre, qualified third fastest in the 100m backstroke in 59.80sec and while she improved on this in the final she was edged into fifth in a slick final won by Australia's Rachel Goh.
The North Shore club swimmer was sixth fastest in the heats of the 400m freestyle and improved with a 4min 11.04sec effort in the final won by Australia's Blair Evans.
Marston, the teenager from the West Auckland Aquatics club, qualified seventh fastest and finished in the same placing in the final of the 400m freestyle in 4min 14.18sec; it was her second final in her World Cup debut.
Both Ingram and Maston will head to Beijing for the next round of the World Cup on November 8-9, where they will be joined by Queensland-based Cantabrian Cameron Simpson.
