New Zealand soccer today announced a sponsorship deal with US sports equipment manufacturers, Nike, which it said was the biggest commercial partnership for soccer in the country.
The deal is for four years and will cover players as young as five in NZS' Small Whites programme to the senior national men's and women's teams.
"It is a huge day and an exciting day," NZS chief executive Bill MacGowan said.
MacGowan declined to say how much the deal was worth but said NZS' previous apparel provider, Adidas, was given the right to match the offer.
