All Blacks coach John Hart appears unimpressed with the World Cup squad's ground-breaking, tight-fitting new adidas jerseys, complete with special chest grips.
One team wore the new shirts in Sunday's "secret" game at the Institute of Rugby, Palmerston North, and Hart was hardly lavish in his praise.
Asked which qualities about the
jerseys appealed to him, Hart replied: "I didn't wear them."
"Look, I don't think they're as dramatic as people make out. They're not significantly different. They're a closer-fitting jersey."
But they will be worn at next month's Cup?
"No decision has been made on that," he said.
Hart said wearing the jersey was not a clause of adidas' nine-figure sponsorship deal with the New Zealand Rugby Football Union.
The not-as-snug new jersey with the black half-collar was launched with plenty of hype in Auckland in June. The All Blacks have worn a similar jersey in this year's six tests. - NZPA
