It should be little wonder Australia want to spend the least possible time in Dunedin this weekend.
Whenever the Tri-Nations draw is made, Australian officials must shudder as their New Zealand counterparts nominate their preferred home venue. In nine visits to Carisbrook, dating back to 1913, Australia have won none.
The closest
they came was a 12-13 loss in 1986, the match best remembered for the return of those banned from taking part in the Cavaliers tour to South Africa.
There was an 0-3 loss in 1962, but otherwise it has been pretty plain sailing for the All Blacks.
* When the All Blacks won 36-24 at Carisbrook four years ago, all the points were scored at one end of the ground.
* Tony Brown has played just seven minutes of test rugby on Carisbrook before today - against South Africa two years ago.
* Andrew Mehrtens has scored 160 test points against Australia, the highest tally of points by any player against any country in tests.
* Anton Oliver's only test tries have been scored at Carisbrook. Both came against Scotland last year.
