Ill-discipline marked the weekend's national league round, with sinbinnings and send-offs marring the competition.
The New Zealand Rugby League have judicial members at each Bartercard Cup game and they dealt quickly with the guilty.
The brawls and high tackles were the main points of interest in a round where
the highpoint would otherwise have been the overturning of high-flyer Canterbury 26-22 by the so-far ordinary Mt Albert Lions.
Lions prop Fuifui Moimoi was outstanding.
Glenora Bears' wing Setu Iole and Hibiscus Coast opposite James Tavaga were both sent off then suspended from next week's round for fighting in the home side's 54-18, nine-try-to-three demolition of the Bears.
Northcote's Sonny Cavanagh was sent off but escaped suspension for dropping his knee into a Ngongotaha player in a scrappy 44-28 win for Northcote at Puketewhero Domain.
The home side's prop Barney Wharekura and second rower Wetere Neketai were both sinbinned. Northcote fullback Jared Trott provided the difference with six goals.
Competition leaders Eastern Tornadoes were overturned 25-14 by Manurewa on the Marlins' home ground, with Tornadoes' second rower Phillip Leuluai sinbinned for a high tackle.
The speed and the skill of Anthony Kiro and Warriors-in-waiting Joe Galuvao and Richard Utai were the difference. Warriors development player Channerith Ly set the outsides away well, with wing Richard Utai grabbing two tries.
Wainuiomata were 44-0 up at halftime against Marist-Richmond, and went on to win 56-30.
