Scouting Report
New coach Ricky Stuart has a job on his hands turning around a club that lost their last 10 games of 2006. Having taken the Roosters to three consecutive grand finals in his first three years as a coach, Stuart is no stranger to success. But his Cronulla side look light on star-quality and their only genuine superstar, halfback Brett Kimmorley, can't seem to play alongside five-eight Adam Dykes. Last year, the club won just two of 15 games the pair started together.
Added to that, the Sharks recruited Misi Taulapapa and Josh Hannay, who were fired last season for booze-related incidents. Generally, such players aren't at the top of a club's wish list.
Coach Ricky Stuart will almost certainly say
"If any of you useless lumps ever want to play for Australia then I suggest you get out there and wash my car."
Stuart probably won't say
"Now Brett, I don't want to tell you how to suck eggs, but when I was playing ... "
Reasons to be cheerful
Best cheerleaders in the game. The Mermaids 2007 swimsuit calendar is really quite outstanding, artistically speaking, and seems a snip for just A$19.95 from the club's website.
