There appears to be trouble in harness racing paradise.
The men who climbed harness racing's highest peaks in the last two years with champion pacer Christian Cullen could be set to end their association.
Owner Ian Dobson is preparing to take his horses off trainer Brian O'Meara.
O'Meara's wife Lynette wasdenying any knowledge of the impending split yesterday but Dobson has already told industry insiders their association is coming to an end.
That will mean a change of stable for the two star lots of this year's Christchurch yearling sales.
At those sales, syndicates headed by Dobson bought back a half brother to Christian Cullen and a brother to Courage Under Fire.
But Dobson has already told one industry source close to him neither colt will be racing in O'Meara's colours, even though they are in O'Meara's care today.
If they are on the move their new trainer could also come as a shock, with forgotten horseman Robert Dunn a leading contender.
Dunn was the man who trained Master Musician during his incredible career last decade during which he won over $2million in stakes but he has not been a player in the industry since.
While Christian Cullen was retired to stud after running third in the Victoria Cup in January, Dobson still owns half of O'Meara's other open class pacer Cigar.
