Chase Alida galloped strongly at Cambridge yesterday morning in preparation for Saturday's $52,000 Rotorua Cup.
The markers were out 10m on the No 2 grass and the footing was easy.
Chase Alida began easily from the 1000m and increased speed from the 800 to record 51.8. He has progressed very well and
will be ridden on Saturday by Peter Johnson.
Fendahl hit out evenly over 800m in 52.2 and Mobile was untroubled to run 53.
Dupre impressed running 800m in 51. Unfortunately he drew wide at Avondale today and has been scratched. Stablemate On Spec ran 1000m in 1.6.
Wa Zabenza and Jadestone were paired over a soundly-run 1000m in 1.6.4 and Regal Krona clocked 52.6 for the last 800 of 1000.
Durzetta, who may run at Rotorua, was let off with an easy 1000m in 1.10.
At Matamata, Kohinoor impressed with her Rotorua preparation.
On an easy course proper, Kohinoor had Our Sardonyx as a partner through an attractive 1200m in 1.16.8, the 1000 in 1.4.4 and 600 in 38.4.
Miss Kylie was another to impress, running 1200m in 1.18, the 1000 in 1.5.2 and 600 in 38.6. Roman Tuscany and Arahanga stayed on terms over 1000m in 1.5.6, the 600m in 39.
Celtic Queen and Prefer To Race covered 1200m in 1.19.6, the 600 in 39.4. Religious Instruction and Malpaso Man went easily through 1000m in 1.9.4. the 600 in 39.8.
On the much faster all weather track, Kazoo and Bemuse went 1200m in 1.16.2, the 1000 in 1.2 and 600 in 37.2. Words and Sharp Affair dashed over 1000m in 1.2.2, the 600 in 36.5.
Classic Fortune hit out freely over 1200m in 1.16.5, the 600 in 37.8. Trafalger Flyer and Fredagoodhome ran the same distance in 1.18.8.
Windsor Phew promised further good form in the Rotorua Cup judging by her work at Takanini yesterday.
On the outside of a soft No 2 grass, Windsor Phew ran the last 1200m of 1600m in 1.17.6, the 39.9. She carried a good weight and worked late in the worst of the footing.
Latour sprinted 1000m in 1.4.3, the 600 in 39.7. Pretty Wicked and Just Bourbon covered 1200m in 1.18. 7, the 600 strongly in 37.9.
Watch Officer, a rival for Windsor Phew on Saturday, ran 1200m evenly in 1.18.4, the 600 in 39.1.
Rotorua runners Maserati and Drama Queen looked good running the last 800m of their work in 50.9 at Counties. The No 1 grass was firm.
Tsar Peerior looked bright finishing off 800m in 50.2, the 600 in 37.3.
Diamond Show, who races at Hastings on Thursday, ran 800m in 50.5 and 600 in 37.7. Another Hastings runner, Gencay went easily through 800m in 55.1.
