Olympics: Vancouver puts name in Olympic hat

Vancouver officially submitted its bid to host the 2010 winter Olympics to the International Olympic Committee yesterday. The Canadian port city, allied with the winter sports resort of Whistler, is in competition with Salzburg (Austria) and Pyeongchang (South Korea) to host the Games, with the IOC to decide on July 2.
