Parramatta Eels halfback Mitchell Moses has gotten himself on the highlight reel but for all the wrong reasons.

Fresh back from a calf injury, Moses took back the goalkicking duties from Eels skipper Clint Gutherson.

The Eels were potentially going to once again be shell-shocked after last week against the Manly Sea Eagles as the Tigers' Luciano Leilua crashed over in the opening two minutes.

But the Eels weren't standing down, hitting straight back through Maika Sivo.

Sivo, who had a knee complaint after a tackle last week, went straight back into his rampaging best, banging into Wests fullback Adam Doueihi.

Outmatched, the Eels winger scored his 10th try of the season, bouncing off Doueihi to score in the corner.

Up came Moses but while the Bankwest surface looked like carpet, it seemed to be more like "an ice rink" according to Fox League's Greg Alexander.

Looking similar to Cam Smith's goal where he slipped and still kicked the goal, Moses' went nowhere near.

On Channel 9, Ray Warren called it "quite embarrassing".

It's clear this kick will go down in infamy with former Tiger Joel Caine not getting the distance from a kick 20m out and it not going the distance, while the Bulldogs' Kieran Foran missed a conversion from directly in front, 10m, kicking the ball under the crossbar.

But Moses made up for it just on halftime, giving the Eels the lead heading into the break after a brilliant chip for himself to score and take an 18-12 lead to the break.

It came after the Tigers burst out of the blocks to lead 10-4 after 15 minutes.

But a 50m effort from front rower Reagan Campbell-Gillard and Moses' try turned the game on its head.

Two more tries to Shaun Lane and Sivo's second made it 26-12, with the Tigers' Tommy Talau getting a consolation try with two minutes remaining.

For Moses, the slips didn't end though, shanking a kick for touch in the second half as he slipped over again.

Asked in the post-match press conference, Eels coach Brad Arthur said: "I don't know what happened there, but it happened a couple of times. We'll have to have a look there."
