A leg injury suffered in a fall at trackwork yesterday has prematurely ended the season for comeback jockey Jason Waddell.
Waddell's manager Darryl Anderson has confirmed the talented rider will be back and raring to go leading into the new season.
"Jason was scheduled to have surgery anyway to remove a plate and some screws in his other leg, which he had broken playing soccer more than a year ago," Anderson said. "He has decided to bring that surgery forward following the incident."
Waddell and partner Anna Berg are expecting the birth of their second child.
