New rugby mag to give fans in-depth read

A new rugby magazine, pitched at fans wanting in-depth coverage, will hit the news stands in February.

The first issue of International Rugby New Zealand, a large-format, glossy magazine, will feature previews and background on teams in the Super 12 season starting that month.

The magazine, published by Independent Magazines (UK), will have six editions - one each for England, Ireland, Wales, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

New Zealand content will dominate the magazine here, but the first-class mix of international and New Zealand reporting, photographic spreads and vigorous opinions from the rugby world's foremost columnists will make it a must-have for serious fans.

It will give readers the best in player profiles and background features from New Zealand and other leading rugby-playing nations.

International Rugby New Zealand will cost $6.95 an issue.
