Speedway racing returns to Western Springs tonight after a two-week break when the venue was used for two music concerts.
Interest over the next fortnight will focus on the build-up to the International Midget Series, which begins on December 21 with two teams of five cars each from Australia and the United States. The results of the racing over the next two Saturday nights will decide the composition of the New Zealand team.
Meetings featuring the International Midget cars will be held on December 21, 26, and 28, when the 30-lap feature will be held, then on January 1, 2 (qualifying) and 4, which will feature the biggest race of the season, the world championship 50 lapper.
