Annika Sorenstam erased a 10-shot deficit and beat Mi Hyun Kim in a playoff in Los Angeles yesterday to become just the third golfer to win four consecutively scheduled LPGA Tour events.
"I just can't believe it," said Sorenstam, who also completed the biggest come-from-behind victory in LPGA Tour history, and surpassed Betsy King to lead the all-time career earnings list.
Sorenstam had seven birdies and one bogey in her six-under 66, to finish 54 holes on six-under 210.
Pat Hurst, who led each of the first two rounds and was 10 in front of Sorenstam going into the final round, ballooned to a five-over 77. She finished third on five-under 211.
New Zealand's Marnie McGuire started the final round in a share of ninth, but faded to a share of 31st after carding a three-over 75.
