Kiwi cyclist George Bennett has shot into the top 10 on the Tour de France's general classification after stage nine.
The Tour of California champion has finished seventh on the brutal 181.5 kilometre stage from Nantua to Chambery.
Bennett finished just over a minute off stage winner Rigoberto Uran.
Team
Sky rider Chris Froome still holds the yellow jersey, with Bennett three minutes and 53 seconds behind him in 10th.
Key Team Sky rider Geraint Thomas and Tour de France contender Richie Porte have crashed out of the race.
