Kiwi cyclist Julian Dean's Olympic dream is back on.
Dean has made a remarkable recovery from a broken leg suffered during a crash on the Tour of Catalunya last month.
He says his progress has been rapid and he's hoping to return to the road in the next two weeks and return to racing in June.
"Progress has been good given the severity of the injury. Recovery has been pretty rapid and I've been back on the bike for a week now on a stationary training at home, so just pressing on and pushing things as much as I can," he told RadioSport.
Dean says he'll definitely be ready for the Olympics, it's just a question of whether he'll be fit enough.
If fit Dean would be competiting in his fifth Olympics. He won a bronze medal on the track at the 1994 Commonwealth Games and also competed at Atlanta in the team's pursuit but switched to the road for the 2000, 2004 and 2008 Olympics.
The GreenEDGE rider says he's also an outside chance to ride in his eighth Tour de France.
