Cycling: Australian Olympics hopeful sidelined

Australian sprint champion Kerrie Meares has been forced to pull out of this year's Athens Olympics because of a serious back injury.

Meares, regarded as one of Australia's brightest prospects to win gold, said she withdrew after doctors told her she was risking permament damage if she did not take an immediate break from cycling.
