"Here we go again" was underarm victim Brian McKechnie's reaction to the latest Australian cricket tactics at the World Cup.
McKechnie, who in 1981 faced Trevor Chappell's infamous underarm delivery at the Melbourne Cricket Ground which was aimed at preventing New Zealand hitting six runs to tie the game, said it
was another clear case of rules existing and players using them to their advantage.
"I've already had two phone calls from Australian radio stations wondering what the Kiwi reaction would be," he said. "To a point, I can see why they have done it. At least Waugh has been honest about it.
"It's the same scenario as 1981 - it's in the rules but it mightn't be morally right. You have to be careful because every time they tinker with the rules they open up another area for someone to exploit.
"It's a pity New Zealand didn't beat someone else to avoid all this."
