Athletics: Kiwis' triathlon date

New Zealanders Bevan Docherty (pictured), Hamish Carter and Evelyn Williamson have been invited to compete in the world's richest triathlon event in the United States.

The Lifetime Fitness Triathlon in Minneapolis on August 2 boasts $900,000 in prizes, half going to the winner of a race in which men and women compete.

Last year the top four places were filled by women, and Docherty and Carter will hope the handicapping system provides the men with a better opportunity to win this time. Carter and Williamson contested the event last year, but failed to figure at the finish.
