Wairarapa United won't mind if Stop Out consistently test their defence in tomorrow's Chatham Cup elimination match at Hutt Park in Wellington. With their primary objective for 2007 being the winning of the Capital Soccer premier division competition, in which they currently sit third equal, Wairarapa United management are treating thisencounter more as a chance to cure present ills than anything else. And with the main problem area revolving around their defensive effort they believe the Cup fixture comes at an opportune time. "We've got a series of tough premier division games coming up and it's vital the defence is right up to scratch by then," manager Phil Keinzley said. "Tomorrow could be a big help in that regard". On paper at least Stop Out should be the dominant force. They play one grade above Wairarapa United at central league level and while their recent form there has been nothing startling they are apparently in the process of strengthening their side with the addition of a number of newcomers. Keinzley, however, is at pains to emphasise that while the enhancement of their defensive display is the main objective for Wairarapa United they are by no means conceding defeat. He believes their attack, led by player-coach Pita Rabo, is quite capable of creating hassles for Stop Out's own defensive effort and with anything like an even share of possession could actually take Wairarapa United to success. "Offensively we are probably the equal of them and if they take us cheaply there anything could happen,' he said.
