The four people, including a child, who died in a fiery road smash south of Auckland last week, have been identified using dental records.
Police said speed was a big factor in the crash which killed Raymond Non Tuhura, 34, Nicholas Benjamin Petera Farrell, 33, John David Ariti Rakena, 41,and Nickaysha Angel Naicovi, five.
All four died when the driver of a Falcon car overtook another car but lost control on a bend and slammed into a Mitsubishi car travelling in the opposite direction at Tuakau on March 10.
The victims were all believed to have been in the Falcon car which burst into flames. All four died instantly.
A fifth person from the Mitsubishi was taken to hospital with serious injuries, including a broken pelvis.
Police said at the time it was one of the most traumatic road accidents they and other emergency workers had dealt with.
