Two taken to hospital as crash closes South Auckland road

Two badly injured motorists have been taken to hospital after a crash on a South Auckland road.

Police have closed Papakura's Mill Rd between Fernaig St and Walters Rd while they investigate the two-car crash.

A police spokeswoman said the road was expected to be closed for at least two hours while the Serious Crash Unit investigated.

St John Ambulance said two people had been taken to Middlemore Hospital in a serious condition.
It's the second serious smash in Auckland today after a motorcyclist was killed on a residential street in Flat Bush, East Auckland, early this morning.
