Two new Lotto millionaires

Two new millionaires could be walking around New Zealand today after last night's Lotto draw.

Two tickets shared the biggest-ever Lotto prize pool, after no one won the Easter Superdraw last week and it was added to this week's prize pool.

The winning tickets, bought in Waiuku, south of Auckland and Lower Hutt, took home nearly $2.4 million each.

Lotto Powerball had also jackpotted, for nine weeks, and Lotteries Commission rules stated that the prize had to be paid out in the tenth week.

Seven tickets shared the Powerball prize, winning almost $130,000 each.
