Two people were injured in a two-car crash near the Hunua Ranges southeast of Auckland this morning.
The crash happened on Kawakawa-Orere Rd near Orere Point, about 5km past Kawakawa Bay, about 8.30am.
An ambulance spokesman said one person was thought to have suffered serious chest injuries, but their condition improved to moderate as they were taken to Middlemore Hospital.
A second person suffered minor injuries.
The spokesman said the winding rural road could be dangerous in places.
