Train crashes into milk tanker north of Wellington

Police have confirmed a train has collided with a milk tanker in a rural town north of Wellington.

Reports of the collision reached police at around 8.20am, the crash occurred at a level crossing on Matarawa Rd in Dalefield.

There are no reports of injuries, a police spokesperson said.

The road has been blocked off and motorists are being told to avoid the area.
